Fortnite Adds Will Smith’s Bad Boys Character, Mike Lowrey

With the release of Fortnite’s latest update, the battle royale game has added a new playable character from Bad Boys 2. The addition of Mike Lowrey will bring a fresh new look to the meta-game and provide a unique twist on how players can approach combat.

Fortnite has added Mike Lowrey, Will Smith’s character from the Bad Boys movie. The game was released on September 26th, 2018 for free on PS4, Xbox One, PC and Mac.

Fortnite has seen its fair share of surprising and hilarious crossovers, from the Master Chief to John Wick and Ellen Ripley. Mike Lowrey, Will Smith’s policeman character from the action-packed series of Bad Boys flicks, was added to Epic Games’ famous battle royale game this weekend, continuing the tradition.

The Mike Lowrey Outfit, which is currently available in the Fortnite item store, contains the Detective’s Duffle Back Bling, a duffle bag containing an assault weapon and handcuffs, as well as the Loose Cannon Cutters, a pair of blades.

It’s unclear what inspired Epic Games to include Will Smith in Fortnite, but Bad Boys remains one of the best action/comedies of the 1990s. The film is noteworthy for kick-starting filmmaker Michael Bay’s Hollywood career, since he would go on to helm more thrilling blockbusters including The Rock and subsequent Transformers films.

Last year, the Bad Boys series made its long-awaited comeback with the release of Bad Boys for Life, the franchise’s third chapter. Will Smith and Martin Lawrence reprised their roles as Miami cops Mike Lowrey and Marcus Burnett, who must contend with a mother-and-son duo with unexpected connections to Smith’s character.

The Mike Lowrey Outfit, which contains the Detective’s Duffle Back Bling, is now available in the Item Shop. Equip Mike’s dual-wielding pickaxe, the Loose Cannon Cutters, to complete the Loose Cannon Set.
